Configuring your Outlook 2007 client to use the RPI IMAP service

Open Microsoft Outlook and go to Tools>Account Settings... .
Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP. Click Next >.
Select the box at the bottom of the window, Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Do NOT fill in your name/email on this page. Click Next >.
Select Internet E-mail. Click Next >.
On this page, fill in your name, e-mail address, select IMAP as Account Type, and enter mail.rpi.edu for both incoming and outgoing servers. Do NOT click Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA). Click Next >.
Your email account should now be configured. Click Finish. To open your IMAP inbox, you will need to expand the folder userid@rpi.edu and select the inbox under that. (This is different from the default inbox under Outlook.)
